Marist High School student journalists delivered an outstanding performance at the Scholastic Press Association of Chicago Awards, earning recognition in nine categories and showcasing the strength of Marist’s student media program.
Leading the way, MHS Media (mhsmedia.marist.net) earned Excellence in Overall Website, highlighting the team’s commitment to high-quality, consistent digital storytelling across platforms.

- Carsyn Smith (Mount Greenwood) – Excellence for Feature

The Scholastic Press Association of Chicago (SPAC) is the largest organization supporting high school media teachers, advisers, and student journalists in the Chicagoland area. SPAC promotes excellence in scholastic journalism and media literacy through its annual McCormick Foundation High School Media Awards, as well as conferences and workshops for student media programs.
Student work is evaluated by university professors and professional journalists, ensuring a high standard of credibility and real-world relevance. The organization recognizes achievement across a range of categories, highlighting excellence in writing, photography, broadcasting, and digital media.
