
Marist High School is proud to welcome three new staff members to our Hockey program for the 2026-27 school year. All three coaches bring years of hockey experience both as players and as coaches and we are proud to bring them to our RedHawk family. Meet the staff below!
Head Coach: Keith Burchett
- As a player
- Three-time Kennedy Cup winner
- Two-time State Champion –
- Played for Sioux Falls in the USHL
- Played NCAA DI Hockey for UMass Lowell
- As a coach
- Started the Lincoln Stars AAA program
- Recruited 25 kids from across the United States to come play in Lincoln, NE
Assistant Coach: Declan Hartnett
- As a player
- Played for St. Jude Hockey Club
- Three years of Chicago Catholic League varsity hockey
- Played Junior A for the Minnesota Owls his senior year
- Played four seasons at Western Michigan University with the ACHA DI Hockey team
- 2016 National Tournament appearance
- Recipient of the Team Dedication Award (recognized as the Hartnett Award)
- As a coach
- Eight seasons with the Evanston Mammoth youth AA hockey program
- Head coach for the program’s top Bantam team
- Eight seasons with the Evanston Mammoth youth AA hockey program
Assistant Coach: Tim Lunz ’02
- As a player
- Played Marist varsity hockey from 1999-2002
- Played in back-to-back Kennedy Cup Finals in ’00 and ’01
- Marist Block M Award for hockey in ’02
- Played Marist varsity hockey from 1999-2002
