RedHawks, As we begin the course selection and registration process for next school year, we are pleased to share the 2026–2027 Course Catalog. School counselors will review the course selection process with students during their math classes on the following dates: juniors on January 21, sophomores on February 9, and freshmen on February 11.
We are excited to host our Course Fair in the main gym on Monday, January 26. All freshmen, sophomores, and juniors will have the opportunity to attend during the school day to explore the full range of courses available. The Course Fair is an excellent way for students to learn about their options and make informed decisions for next year’s schedule. It also provides a valuable opportunity to learn more about Advanced Placement (AP) and dual credit offerings.
To support a well-balanced high school experience, Marist maintains an Advanced Placement (AP) enrollment cap that is enforced without exception. Seniors may enroll in up to four AP courses, juniors up to three, sophomores up to two, and freshmen in one AP course. We are also proud to offer a variety of dual credit courses. Successful completion of a dual credit course earns both high school and college credit, and the course, grade, and credit will appear on an official college transcript that can be sent to the college or university a student attends after graduation.
Please review the catalog carefully and discuss your course requests with your parents, counselor, and teachers. As you make decisions, consider your interests and strengths, as well as your college and career plans. The school’s master schedule is built around student course requests; therefore, all course requests—including second choice options—are binding. Please choose thoughtfully as the only schedule changes that will be approved after the summer drop/add period will be level changes.
Once students meet with their counselor and their course requests are inputted into Skyward, course requests may be adjusted only during the drop/add period from March 12 – March 18. After that window closes, the next opportunity to request a change will be in July, once the master schedule has been constructed. At that time, any approved changes will incur a $125 fee.
Please note that placement in a requested course level is contingent upon meeting the stated prerequisite. Students who do not meet the prerequisite will not be placed at the requested level. Prerequisites are listed directly beneath each course title in the catalog.
We understand this is an exciting time as you begin planning for next year. School counselors will be sending more specific information about the course selection process to students and parents in late January. If you have questions, please reach out to your school counselor and/or teachers. The Student Services Office and College & Career Center are always available to support you with academic planning and post-secondary preparation.
Sincerely,
Patrick Ryan Director of Student Services
Joy Lewis Dean of Student Success
