Marist High School is proud to announce that senior Marykate Bartolotta was named a National Merit Semi-Finalist by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation in Evanston, Ill. Semi-Finalists place among the top 10,000 students who enter the competition.
At Marist, Marykate (St. Michael School) is a varsity lacrosse player. She also is a Student Ambassador, a member of the math team, National Honor Society and Spanish National Honor Society.
“It is very fulfilling to see my hard work pay off, and I am grateful that Marist has provided me with a great education to help make this happen,” said Marykate.
Approximately 1.5 million entrants are screened each year by the National Merit Scholarship Program after taking the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT®). These academically talented high school seniors have an opportunity to continue in the competition for some 7,500 National Merit Scholarships worth more than $32 million that will be offered next spring.
